health & safety at hajj seminar 2009 - yorkshire
4th October, 2009, Batley
Following on from the great success of last year, our campaign to deliver important practical advice carries on.
A sunny Sunday, which was a great contrast to wet and windy event of last year the CBH (Council of British Hajjis) team, Dr Mohammed Jiva, Faz Patel and local Cllr Mike Wood made it to the Hajj Seminar.
Cllr Mike Wood opens the sessions welcoming those present and offers words of support to the event and the CBH, he acknolowledges the requirement of flu vaccincation and certificates to this years Hajj and says 'it is not often we learn things from our collegues from Lancashre and Greater Manchester' referring to the work of the CBH in securing FREE flu jabs for the pilgrims of Bolton in partnership with NHS Bolton and the Bolton Council of Mosques and Lancashire Fire & Rescue.
Dr Mohammed Jiva delivers key health tips and advice and focusses on the challenge of swine flu and Hajj.
Faz delivers a safety presentation which he has developed for Lancashire Fire and Rescue followed by Rashid Mogradia who advises pilgrims on consumer rights and ATOL protection. The event finishes with Dr Jiva innoculating pilgrims with Meningitis and Flu vaccination and issues the necessary certificates .. job done! Preperation for the Main event in Bolton starts!
